Commissions

How it works

Commissioning a painting from Nay is more than just acquiring art; it’s a creative journey. Whether you arrive with a clear vision or simply a feeling you’d like to capture, Nay meets you where you are. This is a collaborative process shaped by conversation, curiosity, and trust, one that invites your ideas while leaving space for artistic exploration. From your first conversation to choosing a colour palette or sharing meaningful references, every step is thoughtfully guided to ensure the final piece feels deeply personal. Whether the starting point is a cherished photograph or a palette that echoes your space, Nay will translate it into a one-of-a-kind artwork that speaks to you. More than the finished piece, it’s the experience that sets this process apart, and the result is a truly bespoke painting with a story and a journey that belongs entirely to you.

The Process

  • Using Nay’s portfolio of past, recent, and current works. Choose the pieces that resonate with you, be it the colour palette, flower and background. Feel free to share your own inspiration too, like a photo of a favourite flower.

  • Whether you’re drawn to something classic and understated, beautifully ornate, or a clean, modern tray frame – you’re free to choose what best suits your taste. Feel free to send over any examples you’ve spotted and loved – we’ll find just the right look to complement your piece perfectly.

  • From intimate to statement-making, select the size that fits your space and vision:

    • Small (approx. 23x18cm) – Starting at £400
    • Medium (38x32cm) – Starting at £500
    • Large (50x60cm and up) – Starting at £600
  • Now the fun part, backgrounds! Choose from bold stripes, colourblocks, or geometric designs. We’ll create a palette that feels uniquely you.

  • Once you’re happy with the vision, Nay will send over an invoice for a 30% deposit to secure your place on the waitlist. From there it’s all systems go.
